Devil's Tavern II: Vengence
He flew the half an hour to Josephine’s
and morphed back into human form. He lifted his hand to knock on the
door when it opened. There she stood wine glass of blood in hand, dressed
in a sheer green silk nightie, and smiling. Her jet-black hair hung
over her shoulders. The green of her nightgown brought out the paleness
of her skin and the green tint of her amber eyes. His smile widened
when he thought of the spicy blood flowing underneath her flesh. Nathan
placed a light kiss on her mouth. She wrapped one arm around his neck
and sucked on his top lip. She thrust her tongue into his mouth and
flicked it over his teeth. Nathan resisted the urge to unleash his fangs
and nip at her tongue. A shudder moved down his back when he tasted
her blood. She had bitten her lip to entice him. He pulled away, breathless
and grabbed the goblet of blood that she held. He drank it down in one
gulp and then wiped his hand across his mouth savoring the warm blood.
It gave him strength and refreshed him after his flight.
Josephine closed the door and chuckled.
“I take it you’re glad to see me.”
He set down the glass and turned
toward her. “It’s been too long, Jo. I was hoping to see
you the other night, but it seems that you got a little sidetracked.
Was everything okay?”
She gave him a seductive smile
that tightened his groin. “Haunting graveyards wasn’t on
the top of my to-do list last night.
What were you investigating this
time? Werewolves, fairies, shadow people?” She reached for his
hand and pulled him after her.
Nathan followed her upstairs and
into her bedroom. She was always prepared. Another bottle of blood sat
on the nightstand warming to room temperature. Candles lit the room
and the sound of rain and storms echoed in the background. She sure
knows how to make a vampire feel welcome. All I need now is my own coffin
in the corner of the room and I’ll be right at home. He sat on
the bed and took his shoes off. The relationship between him and Josephine
was a platonic one. He had met her while investigating a demonic possession
case. She was taping the whole thing for the investigators and ended
up getting attacked and possessed. They had even caught it on tape.
It was one of the cases that he was unable to explain away the idiosyncrasies.
He had tended to her wounds, helped drive out the demon with Harry,
and as the trust between them grew he revealed what he was. They saw
one another to discuss the happenings and after a year they ended up
in bed together whenever each wanted company.
“I was looking for a spirit.
A woman in white.”
She blew out a candle and sat on
his lap. Josephine rested her head on his shoulder and wrapped her arm
around his neck. She pecked at the arch of his throat sending shivers
through him. All thoughts of asking her where she was the night before
flew from his mind. She nipped here and there and bit lightly along
his flesh. His dick grew harder when her other hand ran over the bulge
in his pants. His fangs pushed through his gums. He rarely unleashed
the beast in his nature, but he knew she could handle it. She had tamed
him in all other ways even if she didn’t know that.
“Oooo…sounds scary.
Did you find anything?” She bit down on his ear. Her nimble fingers
unbuttoned his fly and slipped inside his jeans.
He drew in a long breath enjoying
the sensation of her warm palm on his shaft. “Just a bunch of
horny teenagers and amateur ghost hunters. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Playing around like that will only get you hurt. What are you doing
to me?”
